Perfect example of Sgrafitto Folk Art Pillow Vase.

A highly unique piece of vintage artisan studio pottery, handcrafted in India during the mid to late 20th century.  This piece is an excellent example of the Indian studio ceramic revival era.  It is fully decorated on both sides using an intricate sgrafitto technique, where the artwork is hand-carved through a speckled cream slip glaze and highlighted with a rich brown oxide wash.

This vase is in excellent vintage condition overall with no chips, cracks, structural repairs or hairline fractures.  The interior glaze is clean and the exterior carving remains sharp and highly tactile.
