Step back into the glamour of the Art Deco era with this exceptionally rare and highly sought-after vintage figurine by Wade Ceramics. Titled "Romance", this striking piece was originally designed by the celebrated pottery artist Jessie Van Hallen during the height of the 1930s fashion movement.

This figurine features the highly sought-after, authentic hand-inscribed factory backstamp to the base, reading "Wade / Romance 6." alongside the classic blue "Made in England" stamp. This hand-painted marking explicitly identifies the figure as a genuine original 1930s production piece rather than a modern commemorative reissue. Condition: This piece features its original, unaltered 1930s finish. Because early Wade cellulose paint was not fired onto the glaze, it is notoriously fragile. Please note that there is significant flaking and lacquer loss across the back of the fan, chair, and shoulders, exposing the white pottery underneath (as shown in the images).
