Antique Gothic Revival Brass Griffin Wall Sconces – Ornate Mythological Electric Wall Lights (Pair) Circa 1900s
Infuse your space with dramatic historical ambiance with this magnificent, matching pair of antique Gothic Revival wall sconces. Masterfully cast in heavy solid brass during the late 19th to early 20th century, each sconce is designed with two highly detailed winged griffins (or chimeras), holding extended ornate torch-style arms that house individual electrical light sockets. Brimming with old-world castle-core charm these heavy architectural statement fixtures are ideal for flanking an entry mirror, framing a fireplace mantelpiece, or adding moody, character-rich accent lighting to a hallway or study.
Condition: Excellent antique decorative condition with sharp, crisp relief detailing throughout the brass castings. Both have authentic aged brass patina with deep golden tones and natural dark oxidation in the crevices that beautifully accentuates the design. Structure has no cracks, breaks or past repairs to the wings or arms, both backplates sit flush.
